COVID-19 Symptoms and/or Positive Test Procedures
If a student demonstrates any of the following symptoms:
- Fever of 100.4 or higher
- Coughing, difficulty breathing, chills or muscle aches
- Loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nausea, diarrhea or vomiting
- In close contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the prior 14 days
They will be required to follow the Isolation and Precaution Procedures listed below until a COVID-19 test can be administered and while waiting for the results.
Isolation and Precaution Procedures:
- Keep your distance
- Stay in your bedroom and use a bathroom separate from the one used by other members of your house
- Wear a face mask if you must be around others and try to maintain social distancing
- Inform your employer that you have demonstrated some COVID-19 symptoms
If a student tests positive for COVID-19, they will immediately need to move into a Quarantine Designated Area within their residence and follow the Quarantine Procedures listed below until 10 days after symptom onset and resolution of fever for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medications, and with improvement of other symptoms.
Quarantine Procedures:
- Keep your distance
- Stay in your bedroom and use a bathroom separate from the one used by other members of your house
- Wear a face mask at all times when you absolutely need to be outside of your quarantined area
- Inform your employer that you have tested positive for COVID-19
- Ask someone else in the house to prepare meals
- Do not share bedding, towels, dishes, or water bottles with others. If something is shared wash it with soap and water before each use
- Do not leave the house unless necessary for medical care
- Ask your house leader to help with needs by leaving supplies outside your door
- Do not allow visitors to your home
- Wipe down high touch surfaces everyday with a disinfectant. This includes doorknobs, light switches, phones, remote controls, appliances, sinks, toilets, and countertops etc.
