Discipleship program

Live in gospel-centered community, understand what it means to be a disciple, gain foundational understanding of Scripture, grow in your love for Jesus, learn valuable life skills, and go multiply the work God has done in you.

community life

Students live in homes within the local community and learn about the responsibility of being an adult.  They cook meals, clean their houses, take out the trash, and learn to live with others.  Some students have vehicles and some students have bikes or skateboards.  All of our homes have access to jobs and essentials without needing a vehicle.

teaching & development

Our two year curriculum includes teaching on Biblical Identity, The Character & Leadership of Christ, Bible Studies and many other Scripture-based classes.  In addition, we teach & train in life skill areas that include finances, time & energy management, job interviewing & resume building; cooking, baking, & meal prep; cleaning & laundry; auto care & general home maintenance.

personal discipleship

"So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our very selves, because you had become very dear to us." - 1 Thessalonians 2:8

This is verse is at the heart of our life on life philosophy.  Each student will receive individual and small group care and counsel from our staff and volunteers.  Students are involved in small groups called "discipleship triangles" and large groups called "d-groups" that meet in the homes of our staff.

schedule & Expectations

We start our year in mid September and end in mid May.  Our weekly schedule includes all day Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.  Expect to give 20-25 hours each week.  Students are expected to work, be enrolled in college online, or be volunteering in the community.  Students will be expected to be part of the local church.  In Ohio their church will be Countryside Chapel and in Pennsylvania their church will be UPCC.  Local students will be encouraged to remain in their home churches.

Cost

$4,750 - this includes housing with all utilities, a basic food plan, books, 2 retreats, and program costs.  Scholarships, payment plans, and fundraising are options to help with cost.  We individually work with students to make OTW affordable.  The cost covers the expenses to be at OTW for 9 months.
